Description
The event is a screening of three 35mm prints from the Mastrangelo Collection, the largest Italian-language of collection of 35 and 16mm films in North America. It is housed at the University of Toronto's Media Archives since 2016.
A commercial, a short documentary, and a feature documentary will be screened:
- Confetto Falqui (This one is a short commercial for a laxative from the 1960s. I do not know the director or the precise year) B/W
- Donne del sud oggi (Dir. Francamaria Trapani, 1968) Colour
- Mondo cane (Dir. Paolo Cavara, Gualtiero Iacopetti, and Franco Prosperi, 1962) Colour
All films are in Italian with English subtitles.
The above-mentioned speakers will introduce the films and participate in a Question & Answer session after the screening.
