This PDF iconevent (PDF) will include a Goggio Lecture, a reception, and a documentary screening of Porpora followed by a question & answer period.  The lecture will be in Italian with the presence of an English interpreter. The documentary will have English subtitles.

A brief biography of Porpora Marcasciano:  Italian trans activist, writer and actress, since the Seventies Porpora has been committed to the Italian LGBT+ movement and currently she is one of the most influential and dynamic activists for the rights of the trans community around the world. Elected in 2021 as city councilor of the Municipality of Bologna, she is the first trans woman nominated as president of the Equality and Equal Opportunities Commission.

A brief biography of Vittorio Martone:  Journalist with 15 years of experience, committed to telling stories with the tools of reportage, podcasts and cinema. He wrote and produced the feature documentary Porpora, about the groundbreaking trans-activist Porpora Marcasciano. In 2022, he founded the production company Fantomatica. Now he’s working on a feature documentary about disability, based on unpublished footage of the famous Italian songwriter Lucio Dalla.
