Join us for an informal conversation with Kwanza Musi Dos Santos (QuestaèRoma) to explore the ongoing struggle for visibility and recognition faced by Black and PoC activists in contemporary Italy. The conversation will also touch upon the role of mobilization and social intervention in the current political and social climate which prioritizes national security, with implications for civil and human rights.

About the Presenter:
Kwanza Musi Dos Santos is an Italian-Afro-Brazilian activist raised in Rome. She is co-founder of the cultural Association QuestaèRoma, created in 2013 by a group of young Italians of foreign backgrounds with the aim to erase any form of discrimination through culture and art. Recently, she has been teaching about Black Italy at the previous three editions of the Black Europe Summer School in Amsterdam, and she was featured in a Vice News Documentary titled “Black Lives Matter in Italy”.
