About Amir Issaa:

Born and raised in Rome to an Italian mother and an Egyptian father, Amir Issaa is an internationally renowned hip-hop artist who has creatively collaborated with many Italian and international artists over the decades. He is also a social activist and educator committed to the BLM agenda in Italy. As part of his activist work, he regularly holds rap writing workshops in schools, prisons, and colleges across the world. In 2017 Amir published his first book "Vivo per questo" (This is what I live for), a personal and artistic autobiography that illustrates the challenges and dreams of the so called “second generation” in Italy. In 2021 he released his second book "Educazione Rap" (Rap Education) that looks at rap as a poetic linguistic exercise as well as a shared experience across borders. Between 2015 and 2019 Amir conducted seven educational tours in the US, visiting 30 universities and colleges. For more information and contacts please visit Amir's website: amirissaa.com
